ABOUT tara
Tara is a New York creative studio founded by Pawan Sukhdeo, shaped by personal heritage and an early life lived closely with nature.
Pawan was born in Georgetown, Guyana, and raised in a rural village on the East Coast of Demerara by her grandparents and extended family. Life was simple and deeply connected to the land. Food was grown, meals were shared, and care was expressed through presence, routine, and helping hands. Those early years formed an intuitive understanding of how landscape shapes emotion and how meaningful experiences are created through natural rhythm rather than excess.
That grounding carried forward through a life defined by discipline, resilience, and decades of work in fashion and retail in the United States. After spending over twenty years building expertise in systems, aesthetics, and detail, Pawan found her way to florals and spatial storytelling. What began with flowers revealed something deeper: a desire to shape entire environments and guide experiences from start to finish.
Tara grew from that realization.
Today, the studio creates intentional celebrations that balance design and nature, guided by the belief that authenticity comes from depth, not excess. Each gathering is approached with restraint, care, and emotional awareness, allowing space for connection, presence, and story to unfold naturally. Sustainability, community, and giving back are central to the work, reflecting values that long predate the brand itself.
Tara exists to create gatherings that feel honest, grounded, and deeply personal. Beauty that is felt, not performed.
